MetaRepo

About MetaRepo

MetaRepo is a collection of 3rd party repositories for Linux. To use it, simply download and copy this file to /etc/yum.repos.d/metarepo.repo. Then you can install a given repository by installing its release package, ex: yum --enablerepo=metarepo install elrepo-release.

EPEL

Description: Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) is a Fedora Special Interest Group that creates, maintains, and manages a high quality set of additional packages for Enterprise Linux, including, but not limited to, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS and Scientific Linux (SL), Oracle Linux (OL).

Note: EPEL release packages are already included in CentOS 6+ (others?).

ELRepo

Description: An RPM repository for Enterprise Linux packages. ELRepo supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and its derivatives (Scientific Linux, CentOS & others). The ELRepo Project focuses on hardware related packages to enhance your experience with Enterprise Linux. This includes filesystem drivers, graphics drivers, network drivers, sound drivers, webcam and video drivers.

RPM Fusion

Description: RPM Fusion provides software that the Fedora Project or Red Hat doesn't want to ship. That software is provided as precompiled RPMs for all current Fedora versions and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6; you can use the RPM Fusion repositories with tools like yum and PackageKit. RPM Fusion is a merger of Dribble, Freshrpms, and Livna.

RepoForge

Description: Formerly known as RPMForge, the RepoForge project maintains RPM packages for: * Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) * CentOS * Scientific Linux They provide a set of repositories compatible with various RHEL versions, providing packages for: - Servers (eg. monitoring, troubleshooting, management) - Desktops (eg. office, leisure, multi-media) - Development (eg. perl, python, ruby libraries)

Remi's RPM repository

Description: Providing the latest versions of the PHP stack, full featured, and some other software, to the Fedora and Enterprise Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle, Scientific Linux, ...) users. Also provides libdvdcss (is the only place for it for Fedora).

IUS Community Repo

Description: IUS is a community project that provides RPM packages for newer versions of select software for Enterprise Linux distributions.

Nux-Dextop

Description: Provides desktop and multimedia oriented packages for EL6 and 7. It contains a lot of graphical programs such as Ardour, but also text based apps like Cone.

Adobe

Description: Adobe free software, i.e. flash.
